Food and Gender
Food and Gender: What is gender? Did you know that gender may play a role in food? We define gender as socially and culturally created. In many communities there are multiple genders. We are going to focus on just two today. The students will explore how gender may play a role in what they eat. This week, students will come up with restaurant menus that they believe are made for males, females, and then both.
Sun, May 23rd
Food and Beliefs
Food and Beliefs: The types of foods we eat, the way we eat foods, and the time we choose to eat foods have to do with our beliefs. We will explore how our culture influences food.
Sun, May 30th
Ethical Eating
Ethical Eating: Some diets are considered more ethical than others. We want to start conversations on what one might take into consideration if they wanted to eat more ethically.

Food Anthropology

Courses

We are proud to present our carefully curated Food Anthropology course for children! Our 10-week curriculum was inspired by a college course taken by one of our volunteers, but has been restructured and improved for a younger audience.
